Flying at Shoreham
 

Can anyone recomended a flying school at Shoreham

If you want a flying school for tail wheel and aerobatic training I would recommend Phoenix Flying School.
If you would like a flying school for PPL, CPL etc then I would recommend Flying Time. You should have a look around, visit the flying schools, see the different aircraft and compare prices before making your final choice.

Passed my PPL with Sussex Flying Club and havent got any complaints with them.
Good availibility even with very short notice (I used to ring up if I finished work early). They've put their prices up since I was there but I still think they are competitive.
They seemed friendlier than the other schools around Shoreham but cant speak about Pheonix as they were not up and running when I did mine.
My advice would be to visit them all and have a quick chat with them to see what each one feels like. You can do this in one visit!

I'm not sure about the flying schools at Shoreham, but the ATC staff there are second to none in my humble opinion.

Had you considered Goodwood and their brand new fleet of glass cockpit Cessna 172s?

Goodwood do have new Cessna 172s (over a year old) but through the winter it can get very frustrating on the grass airfield when you cant fly after heavy rain. So it depends on your requirements.
Where did you hear that Flying Time were moving RWESTPA28? News to me:bored:. I dont think the airfield would like it if they moved as they fly 30% of all movements on the airfield.
I agree with Barne, pop round to all the schools to compare facilities, aircraft and prices.

I am in the same situation, would like to resume my flying and will most probably be from Shoreham.

I am quite keen in going with Sussex Flying Club they have received a couple of PA 28's ("new" Warrior III).

Will be going to Shoreham to have a look at the school and talk with them in the near future, but if anyone else would like to add anything please feel free.

Sussex Flying Club certainly taught me well and their recently acquired PA-28s are very well equipped.
