Has anyone seen this before?
 

Whilst carrying out a turn on a taxiway, I watched as the AI in my 152 began lazily indicating a 20 degree bank in the same direction. It didn't settle down again until the a/c had been stationary for a minute or so.
The vac was (just) in the green, so I assume it is the AI itself that is up the spout?

First check the vac system filter has is OK if in eny doubt replace it.
If this has no efect on the AI or the vac px then the AI probably needs replacing , money spent on the new filter is not wasted as it will help protect the new AI.
A good place to get the parts is Airpart Supply at booker 01494 450366 but you MUST have the part number if they are to help you.
The AI will have the number on a data plate on the case.

What you're describing is a symptom of the gyro not being up to speed, though you will always get some effect of the centrifugal force acting on the pendulum weight. (theres a favourite CPL exam question about getting a climbing turn to the right indication when accelerating down the runway).

Most common reasons in my experience, are low vacuum - especially if you're venturi powered, blocked filter and lastly worn out gyro bearings.

As said before the filter is the quickest and easiest to check.
