Parachute jump

christmas is approaching and this year I have decided to get the wife something other than the usual perfume, chocs, lingerie etc. and go for throwing her out of a plane (something I've thought of more than once :) )
Does anybody know of any parachuting sites preferably somewhere that we could fly into, within approx 100 miles of Manchester.
Thanks
jb247.

The best skydiving club in Europe is at Netheravon in Wiltshire. Not within 100 miles of Manchester I grant you, but the safest, most professionally run around. Check out www.netheravon.com. I fly there for the club which operates a BN2-T turbine Islander and a brand new Cessna 208B Grand Caravan.

A couple or friends of mine recently did a tandem jump at Tilstock, near Whitchurch in Shropshire. It looked like a lot of fun!

Sibson, one of Peterborough's two airfields, is a very active sky-diving venue and its easy to fly into. Grass strip, fuel, good cafe and accommodation.

You need to learn how to read! He is asking for help, not for safety!

Thanks for the info. I rang round them and Tilstock seems ideal for what I am after.

Thanks again

You are all mad parachutes are the last resort when the wings fall off !

Visit the British Parachute Association website for a map of DZs. The ones that immediately spring to mind are Tilstock (just South of Whitchurch) the Black Knights centre at Cockerham (NE of Fleetwood, S of Heysham) and Hibaldstow (bit further away, near S****horpe, but it has a 14,500ft ceiling to make up for it). If you see a guy wearing a Lancs Aero Club cap, come over and say "Hi".

PS.

S c u n t h o r p e is not a rude word, though I'm sure some rude words could be said of the place. Stupid software.

Best site in the Northwest. The North West Parachute Centre at Cark airfield. Easy access from the M6. Phone them on (015395) 58672. Cheaper than Tilstock.

Jump?? The best decision you'll ever make.
