Wigwag lights
I wasn't sure whether to post this here or in Bizzy jets.
Having seen these lights on aircraft flying around Anchorage (and boy are they effective!) does the panel think it is time for them to be embraced in UK/Europe - especially in a busy FIR? I am personally up for anything that lowers the collision risk and heightens awareness of proximate traffic. Any thoughts out there? FW |
I thought a wigwag something an Indian lived in (American rather than the call centre variety).

If there on biz jets they are for scaring birds away not for scaring other aircraft away.
|
If you mean a landing light on each wing, with one coming on as other goes off, I think they're already in use in the UK. I've seen it on an RV.

They're for scaring birds & animals. Lots of a/c fitted with them in Oz.

Pulse Lights
Nearly all new pipers have them if the wing tip landing lights are fitted. seen on most medium and large biz jets like the Citation 650,680 and the Citation X for added ramp poser appeal. i believe there even a option on the Cirrus Sr20/22 G3 ! . Just another system to go wrong and completly blow you landing light system......
Looks cool tho :) Karl414AC |
You can install it on any GA light aircraft, will cost you ~ $250.
