Cirrus Dimensions
 

even though you can read the specs/dimensions on the SR22t, is there anyone who can give an opinion on the "roominess" of the cockpit? For example, is it roomier than a M20J?

I'm on the other side of the country from the dealer and interested in one of these AC in the future. I would appreciate any opinions.

I think I know what you mean.

You can lookup the dimensions but aircraft with similiar dimensions have very different feels to their interiors.

I can tell you this I have flown the Mooney, DA40, DA42, Commander, Aztruk, Seneca and some of the Beech to think of a few. The thing I like about the Cirrus is the aircraft feels big and roomy. The dimensions from memory are very similiar for example to the 42 but the cockpit feels a great deal roomier. It is smaller than the Aztruk but feels comparable.

In short I always say they must have been built for big fat Americans and I think they have the interior spot on. It feels roomy, very comfortable, a pleasant seating position and generally works very well. You would need an Aztruk to get close, which would be a great cockpit and a little roomier but sadly is rather dated these days.

Of all the singles I have flown I would genuinely have to say in my opinion it is the best - few come close if you take in the round all the things it does well. There are singles that are better in some respects but fall short across the spectrum.

I'm 6'7'' and I fit in a SR20 comfortably. A Mooney is a no-go (unfortunately).

I'm 6 ft, but pretty broad shouldered. A Mooney Acclaim feels very cramped with two people whereas flying in an SR22 (or 20) feels very roomy and comfortable. Equally well I love the DA40 but again it's pretty cramped (and not really comparable with the Cirrus in terms of specs/price anyway).

Definitely feels (to me) like the roomiest in it's class by a significant margin.

I'm similar build to ILOC. Spent quite a few hours in the Cirrus. The view out front is terrific, nice and roomy in general. An all round sweet aircraft.

I'm rather surprised, given that Mooney's are being discussed, that Sternone hasn't been along with some pertinent and well considered opinion.....:p

FWIW, I'm 6 foot and not especially slender, but long of body and short of leg (the classic chimpanzee build, necessary to drive a Ferrari) and I really don't fit in a Mooney at all. Unless one happens to be talking about a follower of the Rev. Sun Myung Moon, of course.

6' 4" And I find it the most comfortable plane in class and have done over 10 flying hours in one day and still felt reasonbly ok. As someone else said the back is also very spacious and comfortable.

Cockpit design, space and comfort are BIG selling features on the Cirrus - "9 out of 10 pilots partners prefer them!" :-)

Seriously 1000's of Cirrus sold in the last few years - not only to their pilots, but to and with the support of 100's if not 1000's of 'other halves'. It's not only the chute they like.

The market for "speed-freaks" who desire to have the fastest SEP is a lot smaller, as are the associated cockpits, and the number of partners who can also either 'buy' or fit into them.

Great to have competition and choices like these in GA.

Where i can fly some hours In europe the cirrus sr?
