SLMG time towards SEP TT?

Hi folks,

I've had a good search and come up with several different opinions on this, so I was curious as to whether any one can put it in black and white for me.

I haven't got my PPL yet, however I am aiming on completing this in the future, and also a CPL. I'm just gliding a lot more at the moment. I have about 5 hours SEP thanks to an air experience flight and some lessons from a friend whom is also a qualified FI.

Regular access to a SLMG is now a possibility, so I'm wondering whether hours accrued on one can be counted as SEP time?

Are there only specific circumstances when SLMG time can be considered the equivalent to SEP time? Could I hour build solo in the SLMG and this would count towards the 150 hours required for my CPL?

If anyone can shed some light on this I would be very much obliged.

Thanks!:ok:

To put it simply at best 10% of your SLMG time, up to a maximum of 10 hours, can count towards training for a JAA PPL. The answers are all in LASORS: LASORS 2008 | Publications | CAA

There are other options which include completing an NPPL on the SLMG then either converting to a TMG or SSEA rating look here: NPPL

Thanks Whopity, I'll consult LASORS and see what the final word is. I'm wondering if I had my PPL already, would any further SLMG time be considered equivalent to normal SEP time...

I'll have a look. Thanks again.
