Paper Bottlang or electronic?

Its that time of year again, where the bottlang renewal is due.

Having not done much touring last year and uncertain how much i'll be able to do this year, i am wondering whether it is worth keeping up the paper subscription or changing to Jeppview and just subscribing to a few countries instead of the whole of Europe.

Has anyone out there made this transition and is the electronic version easy to use?

Many thanks

I have no current access to Jeppview but last time I saw the product, the "VFR pages" part of it seemed identical in content to the Bottlang VFR paper guides. And the price was similar.

The electronic version is much better because you get the download or the CD and you just need to buy a cheap and dirty laptop (you can get the "EEE" laptops down to about £250, with Windoze XP) to view the stuff. No need to stuff paper updates into ring binders, when 99% of the updates will never get looked at. And you need a laptop anyway when travelling, with a 3G dongle, so you can get notams, etc, file flight plans...

If you carry a laptop and printer around go for the electronic versions. I have been using then for a while now (2yrs) and the updates are a lot less painful than stuffing wafer thin pages into seven manuals.

However I do print the one I am going to use off (and some possible diversions). The printing options are excellent and I often use the "two up" kneeboard style. (With FlightStar).

Indeed - one should always print off stuff needed for the planned trip. A laptop is nearly useless in the cockpit.
