Suggested reading for pilot training?
Hi All,
I was hoping some of you could suggest some prior reading/study before my PPL course in March. I'm a bit worried as I have not done A-level Maths and Science since 1996. I've done some aptitude tests already and it all checks out (I'm less stupid than I previously thought:-). I suppose nothing better than being prepared !!! Your expert opinions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks Frank |
I bought the following and am cracking through the books. Think this is the best way to go. I wouldnt worry, I did A levels in 2000 but it is not really that important. The subject material is not that complex
Student Starter Kits | Student Starter Kit | PSK001 | Fixed-Wing Pilot's Starter Kit |
The most difficult exam is Air Law IMO. The math and science is about the level of first year high school.

You might like to try this . . . .
PPL and IMC Theory Exam Preparation I've not tried the JAA PPL package, but over the last few years I used software from the same company to pass the FAA Commercial, Instrument and ATP written exams, and that was absolutely excellent. I have no reason to assume that this would be any less good. |

good to know. Im studying MET at the minute when I get chance between shifts. Hoping to do the exam in 10 days. There is only around 100 or so pages in the book so think this will be enough time. |
