Maybe we need the regulatory agencies around the world to put God and his intervention into the training syllabus so we know what to do after we fail to use good airmanship and get in real trouble?

That ought to solve the safety issue for once and for all...there would never be another accident. :ok:

In Holland we have a saying "Vertrouw op God, maar zet wel je fiets op slot".

In English this would be "Have faith in God, but do lock your bicycle". Unfortunately that doesn't rhyme as neatly.

Cromwell (i think) said "Put your trust in God, and keep your powder dry"

When studying for PPL I'm sure there were a number of traits that made pilots dangerous. One of them was acceptance I believe.

These two deserve to fly with each other.

Religion and politics don't mix? Think we've found a more dangerous combination here...

If God intended us to fly on empty tanks, He would not have invented fuel gauges.

I heard that God was all up for lending a hand but then the CAA said he has to sit the 14 ATPL exams first and he lost interest.... :}

Poor old God is blamed for saving a couple of fuel-gauge-ignoring-bible-bashing-microplank pilots from a exit from this life of a rather more Darwinian and scientific nature than the staring-eyed-open-toe-sandal-wearing-acoustic-guitar-playing-brigade would like to believe.

SkyArrow has a big tank. The gauge is hard to miss and obviously God wants to keep his dimwits alive! Frankly the whole thing reeks of bad airmanship. Where were their maps? If flying in a remote area would you not plot any strip available even if not printed [private/unregistered etc]? Nearly a ridge too far and absolutely nothing to do with God, whoever she is? I think this is a bull!!!! Bible punchers made up story. 'A' they knew there was a strip there [Bible quotes on any normal airstrip?] 'B' Bet they were low but just closed the throttle at the ridge top! Cynical old aetheist that I am. :rolleyes:
PS I don't think that Skyarrow is a Microlight but in the Spamcan ["Real Aeroplane" !!!!] category but you can actually see where you are going and what else is around!
