Does anyone here have any first hand experience of GA in Egypt?

I would like to rent an aircraft for the day to take from Luxor to Hurghada. I have no ideas if my JAA or FAA license will be acceptable over there in a non G or N reg aircraft.

Any info/leads would be most appreciated.

I went to Luxor in Dec 2006 and there was no evidence of GA. They are listed as having avgas and according to the locals some prop traffic does fly from there.

Egypt is incredibly tight with permits. I would start here or here.
