Can one hold multiple JAA PPLs?

Is it possible to hold more than one JAA PPL?

For example, a French issued JAA PPL, Irish JAA PPL and UK JAA PPL?

Or does one have to surrender one to convert to another?

no, you are only allowed to have ONE JAA licence at a time.

Cheers. Wasn't having a go, btw. It was my impression that you could only have one but couldn't find a reference.
