Seething-Sunday
Any one going to Seething,Norfolk airshow this weekend?
Weather should be OK but may be a prob later on. Lister:) |
Hi Lister,
I'm allegedly one of the airshow acts - not sure if it is me on my own or the first public viewing of our two ship formation aerobatic display. (We have been practicing near your house!) Stik |
Love to go, but g/f needs the car this weekend - any idea if any of the display aircraft will be flying into NWI at all during the day?
|
Am I the only one to look into this thread to see why Lister was so cross on Sunday?!! :} :O
I won't be able to make it sadly; serious all-day pi$$-up booked. Pity - I love small country airshows. Good luck with the weather. Kev. |
Bit too far away for me.
|
SlyHawk, Mmmn.
Too far and you'd not be made v welcome. Shame! |
and you'd not be made v welcome. |
Stik,
Been watching you practicing over TA:ok: |
I'm going; it's not too far for me :} and I'm picking up (not literally!) FlyerFoto!
Cheers Whirls |

Skyhawk N - it was only a jest dear chum as was your distance issue. We retirees need to stick together!!
Was at Seething today, watching the preamble - tomorrow has the makings of a cracking day out! |
Stik,
I had a bimble out to Seething earlier this morning in the L4 but the vis was not too good with patchy rain so decided not to call in. I very much hope to be there tomorrow though:) Lister |
We retirees need to stick together If we don't make it have a great day and hopefully the weather holds, looks good at the moment. |
|
Like Stiknruda says.......Tomorrow looks set for a good one. All preps looked good whilst I was manning the tower there today.
|
Oh well, here goes - the first one.....
http://paulcoulthread.fotopic.net/p45317476.html Really should have stopped by to say hello Stik - Whirls would have bought you an ice-cream! |
Nice display Stik :ok: and I'd've only bought you an ice-cream once the queues died down a bit!!!
Cracking day out and obviously successful given the number of people there. FlyerFoto, you sure that photo's the right way up! :E:D Cheers Whirls |

Are you sure that was not the remants of Stik's ice cream spilling out at the back?
Great display Stik (As ever) a great show enjoyed by thousands.Hence long queue for the ice cream man. Roll on next year. |
How many would you say were there today CS?
|
So how did Seething go? Any photos?
Was hoping to display, but wasn't sure whether I would be away for work so said it was best to say no. Turned out I was around and so I popped up to Cromer to bid farewell to the old strip. Also landed at the nice new strip and was able to make some smoke for the folks at both. We'll all have to pop up to Cromer for a day on the beach with our buckets and spades someday soon. The new airfield is very swanky with two runways, (both level), new facilities etc. Will be a shame to stop using the old one, like the old Hong Kong airport it took a bit of getting used to and it had its fair share of victims. Well ,I will find out for sure in the next 24 hours but given all car parks were full to capacity It appears to be a record attendance. More to the point though was the great atmosphere. Not only was the flying programme without doubt excellent and well recieved, the ground display / activity field was heaving and buzzing big time too !!!. Great weather albeit "breezy" played a big part but the organisation as ever was first class. :D

A few to be going on with Zulu, but loads to sort out yet!

Mmnn, quite a mean wind - 40 to 50 degrees off and between 15 and 25kts across.
Must get that leaky exhaust seen to! Funny how at the speed of heat, the 4 cyl Lyc just puffs out little smoke balls at one stroke per metre! Good day out. Kind of knew it would flow well, right from the briefing. Dave CAA E in the Harvard and Maurice H in the P51 opened and closed the show. Loved Nick R in the Fiat G46. AVM Chris in the Berkutt, the Cassutt boys, Bird-dog, Leopard-Moth/Chippie, some tyro-Arab bloke in the Chipmunk and the Jodels were all pretty impressive. Stan (Martin-Baker) in an RV8 looped and swooped and Peter T pitched up prior to the official start and raced his Mk IX Spit around. BBMF Hurricane declined as he was out of his x-wind limits at RAF Conningsby. Good atmosphere. I reckon that there were 2300 cars so I guess about 4000+ spectators. Next year we'll be there as a two ship! |

stik??
Thanks for the roll as you overflew my 172 on the way home. Too slow to give chase!" |
Thanks
Thanks to those who turned up to support or perform. ZA we had two cancellations on the day so could have slotted you in but all go a bit hectic so couldnt find your number to give you a call. Next time!
Shame we couldnt have the Pitts two ship but I caught some of their practice on Saturday. It will be a good item in the future. Sad to say it but the best act was a non East Anglia act - Fiat G46. Great piece of flying from Nick Richards. Having said that all of the items (with perhaps the exception of some Chipmunk flying) were of excellent quality. |
A pair of oldies.....
A couple more for you:
http://paulcoulthread.fotopic.net/p45349506.html http://paulcoulthread.fotopic.net/p45356889.html |
.....and a couple of classic Pipers.....
http://paulcoulthread.fotopic.net/p45384779.html http://paulcoulthread.fotopic.net/p45384780.html .....more to follow..... |
.....and, to finish off today, three completely different microlights.....

error
And yes I was using shorthand with 'Pitts two ship'..... I do know the difference between a Pitts S2 and a Christen Eagle.
