flying in germany

Hi there and greetings from downunder,

About to embark on a lengthy work posting in Frankfurt and seeking any advice on vfr flying in Germany/Europe.

Hold an Australian PPL/A and would like to do a bit of flying, and remain current, while I'm there.

Any tips/advice would be most welcome.

Cheers
Os

I had a great time flying from the UK to Germany at the beginning of July, the above thread may be of some use. When you're there I highly recommend flying down to Munich, the sights are fantastic.

German ATC was great, perfect English and incredibly helpful plus you're always under a radar service.

Cheers,

You will need to check but I am pretty sure you will need to get a JAA licence as the germans will not allow you to fly a D-Reg on a non JAA licence.
