JAA Certificate of Experience

I am in Florida at the minute doing some hours and my current JAA certificate of experience is due to expire within the next month. I have done in excess of 12 hours flying in the last 12 months.

In order to get my certificate of experience signed off do I need to fly with a JAA instructor or can an FAA instructor do it. The school I am at only has FAA instructors.

Can someone please advise on the rules in relation to this.

Thanks in anticipation.

Also be aware that you need more than just an instructor. The instructor can only sign your log book to say that you have done a 1 hour training flight.

You will also need an examiner to sign your certificate of experience (he doesn't need to do any flying with you). Failure to do this before the expiry date means you will need an examiner flight to get your rating back.
