Night Rating

I've just completed the PPL night rating after pounding the runway at Humberside International and at £6.00 a time, lucky ATC didn't notice the double bounces!

The whole learning process was also, as usual expensive, and the final purge on your wallet is the licence entry notation by the CAA and costs £76.00 for one sentence to be added to page 3 "The privilages of this licence may be exercised at night"

Surely the examiner could annotate this information in licences.

Any spare change mister!

What was the total cost of the NQ?

Night rating costs

Cost approx £600 for 5 hours flying time, landing fees, torch batteries, ovaltine etc...oh aye... and did I mention £76.00 to ..........:*

I dont know why people dont include the 5 hours night as part of thier 45 hours PPL... thats what I done, which meant.

1) 5 hours less to pay for.
2) One license issue fee which costs the same as a PPL without night Q.

You still have to pay the NQ fee, I did my NQ within my PPL but still had to pay the £76 issue fee.

The requirements now are that one must have a certain number of hours before one can obtain their night qualification; 100 hours in the case of helicopter NQ.

Cheers

That only applies to rotary, fixed wing you can do the NQ within the 45 hours of the PPL.
