First Flight

Hi,

Hope this is the right place for this post !

I'm going up for my first flight soon in a light aircraft. Any tips for my first flight ?

Enjoy yourself and if you're allowed, have a go at the controls. Where are you taking the trip from?

Hi,

Thanks alot for the replys. Probably going to go with Cabair at Blackbushe, its the nearest airfield.

Hopefully they will let me have a brief go with the controls.

Just waiting for confirmation of date and aircraft type

Let the instructor know what you'd like to do, whether it's to fly over your house, have a go at the controls, and whether or not you're thinking of doing the PPL course, if you are. Instructors don't know if you want the flight treated as a lesson and to fly as much as possible, or just to look at the view and enjoy yourself, or something in between - we're not psychic!

Cool - will do - thinking of doing a PPL after so I will mention it.

Thanks for the advice.

This sounds a little daft maybe...........

The sensations you experience are different from those you are used to. I remember being more than a little scared on my first "trial lesson". You won't find many who enjoy their flying more now. So if you do feel insecure or worried or maybe even a little green around the gills, don't beat yourself up about it ;)

Oh yeah..............

Have the time of your life :ok:

And if you do tell the instructor that you want this to be a trial lesson then you can count the time in the log book that you will then go on and buy for your PPL training. :ok:

Unless there are limiting factors such as distance or controlled airspace or something else there shouldn't be any reason why you still couldn't take a photo of where you live *and* still have a lesson.

Enjoy.
