N Reg latest ?
 

Anyone know the latest scoop on the UK-based N reg fleet ? Is the jury still out, or have they consulted the tea leaves and made their minds up ?

Various posts have appeared, usually from anonymous individuals claiming to be well connected, suggesting that the DfT has comprehensively dropped the whole thing.

If this is true, I wouldn't expect to hear for a number of months, because in the Civil Service tradition a face saving position needs to be constructed first.

It's also possible that nothing will ever be announced either way. This would have the desirable (for them) effect of maintaining the uncertainty around N-reg operations and thus reducing the flow of newcomers, without the DfT having to do anything at all. If I was them, that's what I would do. Keep the matter "under permanent review". Cynical? Sure. Ethical? No. But you can't expect turkeys to vote for xmas.
