Gliding in Europe

Hi all,

I was just wondering if anyone on this forum could lend their experience of gliding in the EU? I am trying to find a Brit friendly club in either France, Spain or Germany that offers intermediate training.

Any help much appreciated.

Hi

I can't offer much up to date help I'm afraid. What I can say is that the quality of German gliding clubs, and general attitude toward other pilots is superb! I did a multi-national course over there in the late 80's sponsored by the German youth aero club. On one of the weekends I was offered the chance to fly to a couple of fly-ins with the resident winch driver. As a UK glider pilot I was spoiled rotten and couldn't buy a drink all weekend due to their generosity.

I hope you get some more up to date advice than mine, but above all, I hope you get out there and have a great time!

Try the European Soaring Club. They've got a nice site near Ontur in southern spain.

Check out: www.soaringclub.com

You are more likely to get a wide spectrum of gliding experience by posting on ras or uras than on here, IMHO.
