Ian Sixsmith
I remember a crash last year involving Ian Sixsmith, who was very badly injured. Does anyone have any update as to how he is now?
Ian was CFI at MSF in the late 80's when I first got the aviation bug, and I found him to be a good guy, and a great aviator and instructor. Just curious what the eventual outcome was, that's all. |
I havn't seen Ian myself, but have heard he is around, but not flying.

I spoke to Ian last week and keep in touch with him on a regular basis, he has not let the incident hold him back in life and is fit and well.
I believe he is teaching ground school and selling some aviation merchandise;) I have a lot of respect for that guy, he sent me solo! and taught me with his usual high standard. An Excellent Aviator ! |

Do you really think Ian needs this? I suspect he will be happy to think that people are concerned about him but I am sure the other questions are uneccessary. For that reason I am going to remove the links. |
Sorry Mod, pardon my ignorance, but I haven't looked at the replies until tonight, so what links??
All I wanted to know was how Ian is. I doubt he will remember me as I only had a couple of hours before I lost my job at that time, and you know what that does to private flying, but he taught well, and I was just asking after an old aquaintance, that's all. Nonthless, excellent news to hear that he is a lot better, and still involved in aviation. If he is teaching ground school, can someone let me have some contact details please, I cannot get the hang of this bloody wizz wheel to save my life (but that's another thread I think), he could be just the man!!! |
