Us Visa
Here's a question...
I have an M1 visa, now expired, that I used to gain my FAA single-engine Instrument Rating. I now have a JAA MEP rating and I know that I can get my FAA MEP by a simple paerwork exercise with the FAA. However, I would like to upgrade my FAA IR to a multi IR - which basically means a simple flight test, no oral exam and no written exam. Do I need a new Visa? If I do need one, since I have one which expired about 18 months ago, can I renew by post? TIA |
Yes, you will need a new M1 visa, for which, of course, you will need your chosen school to issue you with an I-20 form, and you will need to jump through the appropriate SEVIS fee hoop.
I believe, that once these bits and pieces are accomplished, your previous recent visa will allow you to skip the interview and apply for the new visa by post. The downside of this is that your passport and you will probably be separated for a number of weeks. 2D |
