Night Qual

What is the requirement for a Night Qualification? Could I get one added due to "experience" or would I be forced to do some sort of course?

Cheers

You should find the information you require on: www.caa.co.uk then try a search for night qualification.:O Basically five hours and 3 full stop landings and few other things x-country,nothing major.

Thanks. I thought it would be a half hour trawl through the archives of the CAA, but I came across the info fairly quickly.....

Any previous night flying training completed in an ICAO
Contracting State may be credited towards the
JAR-FCL Night Qualification (Aeroplane) flying training
requirements.

Where an applicant holds a night rating/qualification (or
a logbook entry if that is the method of endorsement
required by the National Aviation Authority) issued by
an ICAO Contracting State, they may apply for the
Night Qualification (Aeroplane) endorsement onto their
UK or JAR-FCL licence providing the requirements of
E4.2 have been met. Logbook evidence of the night
flying training completed will be required together with
evidence of licence/logbook endorsement.

Where an applicant has completed night training
towards a night rating/qualification in an ICAO
Contracting State and has met the requirements of
E4.2 but do not hold any licence/logbook endorsement
from the National Aviation Authority, they will be
required to complete discretional night training with a
JAA Registered Facility or Approved FTO.
Where an applicant has only completed partial night
flying training towards a night rating/qualification in an
ICAO Contracting State but does not meet the
requirements of E4.2, they will be required to complete
sufficient training with a JAA Registered Facility or
Approved FTO and meet the minimum requirements.
So it appears that as a holder of an FAA certificate, I am entitled to add a NQ to my JAA licence :}

Horray, more freebees!

Happy Christmas.

I'm having an alchohol free day today, last night a "quiet pre-christmas drink" with the neighbours resulted in 10 bottles of Champagn, two bottles of still and 3am....amongst 5 of us, and I feel like cr+p today. The Mrs is still in bed :yuk: :}
