MEP Class Rating
Can anyone tell me how much the UK CAA want me to send for the issue of an inital MEP Class rating. I have looked at the website and can only find a price for a renewal
Thanks C-I-M |

Inclusion or variation of an additional aeroplane class or type rating £70 |
Thanks Rustel, I see it now

If I understand this thread correctly, it costs you £70 just for the CAA to update its file and issue a newly revised license; is that right?
Landing fees, high fuel prices and rental charges, and now administrative fees grossly disproportionate to the service provided ... it beats me how anyone can afford to fly in the UK! :sad: |
What about £637 for a CPL or IR flight test?

You have to pay for the 170A test as well .....a pre test, test.....something the americans call "a logbook endorsement" :}

You have to pay for the 170A test as well .............. Supply and demand - you want the signature, we can sell you one. |
That charge is made by the school - not the Authority. Happy Christmas! :D |
It's a requirement by the FAA, too, to have a sign off for a test - ANY test - what I'm trying to get at is that it's the greed of the individual school that screws you with a charge, higher than normal dual rate, for taking a 170A flight test for the instrument rating - and it's the downright evil charging policies of a school that rips you off for a 170A for a CPL flight test.
This one is not the Authorities fault - though the charges that they do make for legitimate services are a disgrace (especially when you know where some of the money goes). |
