RT renewal
I thought the RT license was valid for life? On going through my documents yesterday, I noticed that on the RT is stated that "this license is to be reissued no later than...."
So next year I have to renew both the PPL and the RT at a cost of £59 each? Cheers |
Mine says 'This licence shall remain in force for the holders lifetime unless revoked, suspended or varied'
Hope that helps........... |
Thanks, though it looks like I need to re-apply for mine:confused:

I think it's all that euro stuff, again.
If you got your RT licence after JAA they'll only trust you for five years at a time but if it's a pre-JAA jolly old Brit licence it's valid until you die or make a complete ar$e of yourself, whichever is sooner. |
....but even so, it should only be a paperwork exercise.
The R/T licence is free of charge if issued in support of a flight crew licence. No "renewal fee". |
Ah, I see. It says in the CAA Charges document "Seperate RT issue or renewal", so when my license is renewed, the RT should be renewed free of charge.
What a bargain! |
Thereby increasing paperwork whilst creating no new revenue.
Don't you love being European? |
But the FRTOL is a UK National Licence not a European Licence. There is no such thing as a JAA FRTOL!
The UK ANO states that a FRTOL shall have a validity of 10 years, for a stand alone FRTOL that is what it has. When issued in conjunction with a Pilot Licence the two licence validities are aligned to ensure that both licences remain valid for the same period. |
