Something that is probably of more interest to all aviators now is the change in the way that forecasters/observers now report met visibilityand changes therein. Could catch many folks out unfortunately. You may find that reported vis is far different from actual vis.

And isn't an ATIS a METAR?

The weather portion of an ATIS is from a METAR.

Who would have thought a thread on TAF/METARs would last this long!

Both VOLMET and ATIS broadcasts are Actuals (METAR) - Not TAFs
