have a simple question
what that little star above the airport means on a sectional map.
I'm new to flying and I can't find explenation anywhere. Thank you in advance ! |
Have a look at the chart legend.
However from memory - If it is something like FL * That is a flashing light. If it is something like 123.45 * Then that indicates that the frequency operates "less than continuous or on request". Note the stars are slightly different so check the chart legend. Regards, DFC |
Does it mean becon light at an airport ?
Maybe I didn't explain it right. If you look at map some airports have a star right above the airport. Star has an empty circle inside it. If it's a flashing light like legend says then what is it ? Airport becon ? |
Airports:
Star (with a hollow circle in the centre) indicates rotating airport beacon in operation from Sunset to Sunrise. Airport Data: Star (solid) indicates operation part-time. See tower fequencies tabulation for hours of operation. See this: http://www.aerospaceweb.org/question...ts/q0125.shtml |
