Proposed Rule 5 amendments
 

Esteemed fellow aviators,

Some time ago there was consultation fom teh CAA about reform of the low flying rules, amidst much concern about PFLs becoming illegal, loss of traditional freedoms etc.

Having now read the proposed new rules, the proposal appears to be clear, comprehensible and sensible. Am I missing something? Basically, 500 foot rule continues to be slant range not absolute height, 1500 foot rule becomes 1000 foot rule, and a greater emphasis on "land clear" provisions which take priority over nominal heights. Have a look and see what you think!

Shame we dont have the right to do realistic PFLs here in France, as the ICAO 500ft rule applies here.:(
