Display Authorisations

How does one go about getting a Display Authorisation? All I can find on the CAA website is the application form for a renewal of a DA.

Just contact Dave Evans at the CAA (Gatwick) and he sends you out the forms you need to get the DA. You also need to read and understand CAP 403 which is on the CAA web site (somewhere).

Dave will also put you in touch with a DAE on your type (or close to it) who will help you through it all and will ultimately examine you.

The reason that the initial DA form is not available on the website is that each one is individually numbered and can only be had from the CAA.

Give the air display chap (Dave Evans) a call on 01293 573510 and I'm sure he'll do his best to help you out..

Published yesterday:

APPLICATION FOR THE RENEWAL OR UPGRADE OF A DISPLAY AUTHORISATION

It's a pdf document so you'll need to have Adobe Acrobat or similar installed. Free downloads are readily available on the net.

The initial application form is ONLY available by application to the aforementioned chap at the CAA and not by internet. The Renewal & Upgrade form is the only form available on the website.

Which brings me on to the fact that CAP 403 has also just been amended and is available on the CAA website at:

CAP 403

CAP 403 AMENDMENT

I assumed there might be some people on the forum who might want to renew or upgrade their existing DAs.

I enthusiastically approve of the Authority making an increasing number of documents and forms available for download from the net, and thought I'd draw attention to this one in case anyone didn't know.
