Woodvale Visit !
 

Hi -Anybody out there been to Woodvale (EGOW)
just south of Southport Lancs ?

Any info would be appreciated !

As your probably aware Woodvale is an MOD (RAF) Aerodrome and therefore carries the landing fee at MOD rates & the associated insurance requirements, these are both given in most airfield guides such as Pooleys etc...
The airfield is lovely & typical of the military three runway layout, I'm not too sure about operating hours but the few civilian light aircraft that are based their operate 7 days a week during daylight hours from what I can remember, although the military only seemed to use it about 4 days a week with their Grobs & resident University Air Squadrons.
Its couldn't be easier to find, just follow the coast & look for a large forest, the main runway runs parrallel to the inland edge of that.
