A favour needed. Please read this......
Hi all. I was at the sharp end of a fatality at work last night. Its one of the worst things that has happened to me so I will be taking a week or two off the forum as I am not 100% on the ball right now. (nothing changed there then..!!)
I would appreciate it if you could re-direct your e-mails to me for whatever reason you send them, for help, advise, sticky requests moans and groans etc, to the other mod Keygrip. I will still be looking into the forum from time-to-time but not going to make any moderating decisions for the next week or so. I hope you understand why and thanks in advance for your co-operation. Best whishes, Paul. |
Very sorry to hear of your terrible experience, Mr L, the only comfort is that more recent, happier ones will start to overlay that one and the shock will be dulled in time.
My very best wishes to you. |
..sorry to hear that! I ve picked up the pieces from what I guess was a similar incident. You have my sympathy, as someone who has the regular misfortune to deal with other peoples' demise...
:ouch: :ugh: |
Pilotwolf I have nothing but the utmost respect for you and your colleague's. You turn up and take them away and last nights one was a bit of a mess. I don't know how you guys(and girls) do it but you really do have my respect 100%.
I was speaking to the policewoman this evening who came around for the statement and she says she wouldn't like to go through what I just been through but picking up the pieces doesn't bother her at all. On the other hand, I don't know how you can come along and do that, I really don't think I have the stomach for that. You lot are very special people indeed. The calming influence from the paramedics and police last night really helped a lot just after the incident. I don't know how you do it and I am pretty gratefull for the help your lot gave me last night. PPPPP Thanks for the kind words. I think you are right, the good times will start to come back to my thoughts and I am just taking one day at a time right now. It was a case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. :( |
Paul,
Sorry to hear about that. Hope the incident has no lasting effects and that you're back with us soon. |
Really sorry to hear that. I cna't imagine what that must be like. Take it easy.

Hi Paul.
Mate, really sorry to hear about this. Don't know if I can say anything that helpful, but try not to blame yourself. Best thing you can do is chill out for a while. Take good care, Iain |
So sorry to hear the news Paul. I'm sure there's nothing you could have done, but that doesn't make it any easier.
All the best mate. |
Sorry to hear about what happend. Dont go back to work too soon and if it is too much when you do go back talk to your bosses.
|
Big Red 'L', I've no idea of the circumstances, but obviously it's hit you very hard. Just like to offer my condolences to everyone connected to the incident, and wish you all the best.

So sorry to hear about this Paul, I wish you a very speedy recovery from the shock.

I have no idea in what type of job you're involved in and can only guess at what's happened. I, too, wish you a speedy recovery from the shock and hope to meet you at the December Bash ....

HI PAUL
I can only imagined what happened ,and havn't known what to say ,but wanted to say something ,so just to let you know I'm thinking of you. pinkster xx |
Paul,
Real sorry to hear about that. Been in a similar(-ish) situation. It wasn't anything to do with you. You just had the misfortune to be closer than everyone else. Take it steady and you'll come through it OK. Make whatever use you feel you need of the support provided by your employer or union. Or friends. We're here to help. Take care, RTFM |
Best wishes and a speedy recovery from your terrible experience. I think I can guess the circumstances given you method of earning flying tokens.
As RTFm said, nothing to do with you, you were just in the right place at the wrong time. Try to make the North Weald Fly-in on 14th September a step back to the world. |
Thank you all for writing such nice things. I have to admit I am a little blown-away by your messages here and all the e-mails and PM's that I have received. I am genuinely moved and I can only thank you all for helping me come to terms and try to get things back to normal.
Things are still a bit fresh in my mind right now but its not as bad as the few days after it happened. Reading your support over the last week has helped a hell of a lot and I humbly thank you all again. Paul. |
Mate, am SO sorry to hear this. My thoughts are with you.

Living and working in London, one gets used to the Tube being disrupted by incidents like this.
It's only when it happens to someone you know that it really brings home what the poor driver must be going through afterwards. Sorry it happened to you Big Red L. I'm sure with time that awful memory will fade. Take care RD |
