Dog fights
2 questions for the price of 1.
1. Has anyone personal experience of some outfits, normally in USA, that give short courses in aerial combat maoeuvres? I've a couple of contact names/addresses, but would appreciate ant first hand stories. 2. Some years ago there were opportunities for rides in the USSR and Mig 29's etc. I then heard that Czechia joined the act. Some were organisd through Richard Lamb in UK. Again, any first hand experiences? Thanks. I need an adrenalin fix. My paraglider is fun, but severly 'g' limited. |
No firsthand experience, but I have read several articles that have reported that this place has top-notch instructors and equipment: http://www.fightercombat.com/ It's also (relatively) inexpensive, and has bases in both Ontario and Arizona.
Here are some on-line reports: http://www.simhq.com/simhq3/sims/fea...rcombatcanada/ http://www.combatsim.com/htm/2002/01/fci/ http://www.swaviator.com/html/issueND01/fciND01.html I believe (?) that their safety record is excellent, although on April 2, 2002, they did have a collision of two Extra 300's on takeoff at the US Naval Test Pilot School (Pax River) ... one person was killed. MLS-12D P.S. Here is a list of other "air combat experience" operators: http://aviation.about.com/library/weekly/aa032401.htm P.P.S. This may be of some passing interest: http://www.avweb.com/news/columns/182086-1.html Further information on Sky Warriors is at: http://www.babesandairplanes.com/babes/atlanta.html P.P.P.S. Here is the site for MIG flights etc.: http://www.incredible-adventures.com/ |
There is a place about a 45 minute drive South of Atlanta Georgia that does civilian combat flying out of the Griffin Georgia Airport.
