Controlled Airspace Changes - Cotswold/BHD/STU areas

Hi all

A heads up for anyone that flies in the vicinity of the Cotswold areas - there is a large airspace change coming into effect two weeks today (23rd March) which significantly changes controlled airspace boundaries and levels in the region. The good news is there is an overall reduction in controlled airspace as part of the change with the airspace generally getting slightly wider but with higher bases, all of the changes are above FL70 so should have minimal impact.
There's an AIC published on the AIS website with a summary of the changes ref Y 013/2023

Well, I see that the widening at Berry Head is FL105 to the North and FL145 to the South, the main airway is still only at FL65, meaning that for my regular IFR transit East I'm restricted to FL50 (only got an IR(R)) I'd hoped for an increase here, don't know why they need such a low airway. I can quite often get above the low level tops (usually a Dartmoor effect) around 6,000' so FL60 is very handy on the way back.
Maybe Exeter feel the need to be able to inject their traffic into the airway system ASAP? I'm glad their airspace grab a few years ago failed.
