Touring suggestions
 

My mate and I are hiring a 152 at Dunkeswell for 4 days in about a week"s time with the intention of doing a round trip. We like the idea of heading north as we've already done the southwest incl. Scillies, Wales and the southeast is our home flying area.
Any suggestions for a nice 4 day touring trip? We've got our own ideas but there's always someone with a better one!

Take in the West coast of Scotland if you can. A fuel stop North (Kirkbride?) enroute to stay at Glenforsa. Next day top up in Oban and head up to see the Cullins on Skye and then head over to land at New Hall Mains North of Inverness. Fuel at Inverness the next morning and night stop at any of Perth/Dundee/Cumbernauld depending on your range. Day four south to home.

I admit those legs might be a bit long for a Cessna 150 but if the weather's suitable it'll be a trip worth doing.

I would second a suggestion of the West coast of Scotland. You need to plan your fuel stops carefully. Kirkbride is a good option just before crossing the border. Prestwick is worth considering for fuel. Friendly, quiet, and reasonable for an airport of its size (book through Prestwick Flight Centre). If you don't want to go quite as far as BB suggested, I would recommend Castle Kennedy. It is a short walk up to the castle and gardens. Alas Gigha is sub-600kg these days, but Islay is worth considering. If you are feeling adventurous, Barra is an one-off. Definitely a special logbook entry.

Dunkeswell to Oban and Glenforsa is a long day in a C150. If it's scenery you want the 2 days before the return could be spent based at Glenforsa, fueling at Oban, flying the islands and sealochs. You'd get good information at the Glenforsa Hotel.
Look at the weather before setting off. Sometimes there's a big difference between East and West sides. Consider Perth as a base if necessary due to weather on the west.
Wear lifejackets at all times.
From Glenforsa you could get aerial pics of the Greek style mausoleum on Rhum, the mainline steam locomotive on Soay (off Skye) and the old deisel compressor/generator on the north side of Loch Nevis, well up the hill.
