Wingbuds Anyone use them?
Hi, I’ve just been reading about Wingbugs. They sound excellent, especially as my old Jabiru’s instruments are starting to show their age. I appreciate that they shouldn’t be used as primary instruments, but as my compass needs replacing, and I don’t have an angle of attack indicator it looks to be a very affordable set of 2nd instruments. Has anyone got one? Do they work as expected? Would you buy it again? Thanks

Where did you read it? The only wingbuds I know are where the aquatic nymphs of insects wings develop before they emerge as flying adults.
Stoneflies, dragonflies, etc use them. |

Fascinating bit of kit if it is as good as it boasts at around a £1,000. |
Thanks for the link, @frog, I was really wondering what it was about. IF one already has some iThing AND if one wants to go from zero to a full six-pack THEN it seems like a nice idea. As a secondary or back-up, it feels like pricey. And not all are required: compass functionality is offered by any satellite based navigation app (with the sun also available, mostly) , and AoA is not normally needed, except (as discussed not very long ago) in certain high performance planes.
