Hurray for the CAA!
What!!!??? I hear you cry?
Let me explain. Last Tuesday afternoon I sat down with a student who had just passed his skills test for PPL(A) and we completed his on-line application, finishing about 1600. I got an e-mail from him this morning saying his licence had arrived in the post this morning (Monday). That means the CAA posted it on Friday. What fantastic service! Thank you, CAA. TOO |
Meanwhile, if you have a problem with your medical, expect 3 - 6 months for what should take 24 hours...

FCL have nothing to do now most of commercial aviation ( both pilots & engineers ) have moved their licences to EU states because of Brexit.

There are many ATPL holders whose companies wanted them to migrate to the IAA. However, when they found out how many privileges would be lost in the process they refused.............

TOO It took 2 months from passing my GFT to getting my logbook back and my license issued, during which time I was unable to fly. Immediately after getting that documentation my 2019 airside pass expired (surprise! Who knew that 2019 was coming to an end?). Now I can't access airside until that pass is renewed and that can't be renewed until my resident's permit is renewed, that is approved, but not issued due to some other delay. I spend a crazy amount time waiting on a broken bureaucracy. Now my license expires mid this year because my medical expires then, so I need to renew my medical (which is easy) and then use that to renew my PPL, which I expect to be another substantial delay. |

Lucky you Licensing have just managed to completely misplace one of my students logbooks two licences and all his paperwork.Having done that they are now ignoring him.The big guns are now going in to assist. To clarify they have acknowledged and partially actioned receipt of all the items.Deal with them at your peril !
