EBOS RNAV approaches

Assistance requested.
The RNAV RW08 and RW26 for EBOS Ostend (published 12-9-2019) show 2 routes from the IAF (ONO) to the IF, a north route and a south route on the same approach chart.

I assume ATC provide instructions. However, when I load the Garmin 1000 with PROC RNP RWY26, how do I select the north or south route?

I would normally have expected separate charts with unique identification.

The IAF is ONO and then you fly the procedure to the north via OS002- UBOLT - NOYON to the FAF OS26F. Its then mirrored to the south via SKARD you can also fly direct to NOYON of coming from the east side.

Let me clarify. The published approach chart is clear. The problem is when I load the approach in Garmin, is it going to give me the north or south route? i.e. which route is marked white/ magneta. And of course if it gives me the "wrong" route, how do I change? I could manually overwrite with heading mode instead of being on GPSS automatic track mode, but that is not the idea.

I prefer to know what is going to happen before the actual event. In passing I have every praise for these RNAV approaches, typically the last 25-30nm can be flown on auto-camel with all turns and descents precision made from the IAF down to the DA.

Ah, as I already supposed, it is then purely a Garmin issue. I cannot help you there, being a (very) low-budget VFR-only flier, I give Garmin and the likes a wide berth!

Yep, I got that, The approach on loading should offer you the transition via the waypoints I listed above. If not you need to log it with Jeppesen who produce the data.

When you load an approach on any Garmin box, it will offer different 'transitions'. The default is (usually?) Vectors to Final i.e. assumes ATC will vector you to the IF. However, different IAFs will mean it offers different transitions, and so would the situation you describe.

if in doubt, use the free GTN650/750 simulator software to fly the route before doing it for real.

If you are offered a selection of transitions and are not sure you are getting what you want, select the transition you think you will be using. The first enter will display the route on the map with white lines. If you like it press enter for the second time. If it is not what you were expecting clear that transition and try the other one

Good point. I tend to forget the preview option.
