Finish off PPL abroad.

Hi all,
Currently doing ppl in Ireland, I’ve gone solo, everything else up to date only thing is I’m losing consistency again due to weather and the school booked out on the days I’m off and so on, I really want to finish off the ppl soon, would anyone recommend I go abroad if their is a school that would ideally finish me off within a few weeks, I can get the leave from work and I have the funds. Any recommendations where or school that would fit my needs, if not I’ll continue here but its not in my favor !! Europe if possible ! Thanks :)

In Europe I’d imagine somewhere like Spain ?

Outside of Europe, East Coast of America is probably your best bet for weather consistency using my own research / experience.

Or South Africa.
In their winter (our summer) you get 5 months of wall to wall blue skies in the Highveld such as Johannesburg. Lanseria Flight School, confusingly now located at Grand Central FAGC since Lanseria upgraded to a major airport, would be a good place to start looking.
Be careful though, you need a flight school which can do EASA courses and exams which tends to change as instructors come and go.

Thanks for the replies :)
I’d like to go maybe as far as Spain or an Easa school in the US.
I’ve about 20 hrs to do so I’m looking to see if their is any school to tailor my needs to finish off the ppl within a few weeks, if anybody knows of schools, I’ve come across a few which I did not contact yet as I might get some feedback from here off previous users :)

American Aviation Academy in San Diego, I was going to do the exact same but ended up staying in the U.K to finish where I started.

Be wary of schools in Spain which have relatively young instructors, make sure YOU are granted the right to choose / change your instructor, if necessary. Now, before anyone makes accusations, I'm not being agist, but I know someone whose instructor would regularly get bladdered on a Thursday, Friday and Saturday night so there was no flying on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.... instead they had to do 'ground school'.

Unfortunately the owner of this school refused to allow my friend to change the instructor, basically because no-one wanted to fly with him due to his partying. You can imagine how wasteful that was....

Hi,
That’s cool thanks :) is it a well known school to some of us here?
I haven’t had a flight in weeks now I’m losing the consistency again so I think or hopefully it’s the right move!!

I’ve read more positive reviews about FiS than less positive so if it’s only a few more hours I need I’m sure it’ll be ok!!

Don't forget the golden rule - pay as you go.

It is a well known school I'm talking about. Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays were effectively wasted days. My friend expected to fly 28 days out of 28 days, was paying for a rental car, accommodation and food for that period. However due to the proclivity of one instructor to get drunk, flying was restricted to about 18 days. So imagine you need 4 days flying but get lumbered with that instructor. You fly 3 days then 3 days you're sitting around because the instructor's blood alcohol level is too high to allow him to fly. How would you feel, especially as the instructor KNOWS you want to fly AND you're paying for his time.... to do Ground School which you DON'T need.....:ugh::ugh:
