Concorde sim at Brooklands?
Just discovered the Brooklands Museum yesterday, plan to go today with my grandson and others. I see you can fly the Concorde sim for a fairly reasonable (by aviation standards) price. Has anyone tried it? Looks like a must-do, though awkward to fit in when you live 6000 miles away.
(oops, seems like you can't edit the title. That should be Concorde, not Cocnorde!) |
I visited Brooklands a couple of years ago with a party of others. The all-day visit included both the 'Concorde experience' and a visit to the simulator. The volunteers have done an amazing job restoring the simulator; there were too many of us for everyone to have a turn at the controls, but even watching from the back of the flight deck was an experience - especially when we flew under Tower Bridge on the way to London Airport!
Hope you've booked a ticket though? Lots of other attractions at Brooklands - as well as Mercedes-Benz World https://www.mercedes-benz.co.uk/cont.../whats-on.html which is at the same site. Free entry to much of it too! |
My brother and I flew the Conc sim at Brooklands a year or two ago - no motion but good visuals and worth having a go. We shot the approach into Kai Tak.

We have a Concorde in Barbados :)
Would like to see it do some runs on the runway here, a la Vulcan - who knows what may happen, a few millions and maybe it may just happen to take off a few years down the line - got to be better than the couple of minutes in space for a mere $250,000;) |
