BBC ALBA show on Scottish Airstrips
BBC Alba has an 8 part series starting tonight at 8:30pm on Sky Channel 142 about airstrips around Scotland, may be worth a watch. The shows title is in Gaelic so I haven't a clue what it's called in Engurlish but for you multi linguists or sheep shaggers it's Puirt-adhair.

pb84,
Uncle Google tells me that is “ports air” :) |
Thanks, piperboy84. Really enjoyed that, especially the bits about gliding at Easterton.

Also I had to agree with the ground handler at Wick - as I always have a bottle of Old Pulteney 12yo in stock at home sometimes :) |
Good to see Easterton on the telly :ok:
|
To the supporters of Easterton: y'all owe me one for adding the field both at GB-0441 @ OurAirports
and at https://www.openstreetmap.org/#map=13/57.5905/-3.3068 |
Some old footage in there I think as it's a good while since Loganair went to Wick with BA livery but it was lovely to see my childhood home and the cheery Andy Bruce :)
Tempted to try gliding now... |

Forgot to say last night - there are at least 4 episodes of series 1 on youtube.
I only had a quick glance last night and there may be more with a slightly different search term. |
Here is the channel and Facebook page of the producer

Episode 2 was on tonight, felt sorry for the cadet that didn't get signed off for his solo.
|
I think it's tomorrow nights episode that includes a short piece on certain individuals who not only work hard maintaining grass airstrips but are also devastatingly handsome, highly intelligent and extremely well endowed.
|
:) Now if only I had such a telly box setup, plus the required subscription...

Freeview 7 (Scotland only) So the licence fee we all have to pay gets you an extra BBC channel in Scotland; something else the Scots are sponging from the English in addition to free prescriptions.http://www.pprune.org/images/icons/46.gif(Why can't I get the 'Red Devil' to appear here?) |

Well, Mr Chevvron, sic, you did steal all our oil, all of our land, and we are now slowly but surely, taking it back. Just wait until we FRACK the line between Castle Douglas and Newcastle. An England cast adrift, drifting aimlessly Northwards, cause your European friends wont attach you to their mainland.;);)
