Beach landing near Lisbon
Two sunbathers killed apparently.

Structural failure?
Aircraft is CS-AVA owned by Aero Club Torres Vedra. Pictures show bent strut and nearly detached port wing. Unlikely this would happen on a simple forced landing? Sympathy to families of innocent sunbathers they hit.

It might fail following hitting an obstacle. That might have been a person.:( :(

I wonder If ditching was not a safer option. Apparently one of the victims is an 8 years old girl

Mmmmmm, I hope there is a very good reason for not putting it in the water.
Perhaps the sea was full of swimmers, but onto a beach, which would appear to have been busy, would not be the first option. Maybe the wing detached, but initial quotes from onlookers are no engine noise. Thoughts with the deceased.. Just looked at the Daily Mail photos. Flaps are down. |
