Hope the pilot is not too badly injured.

Anyone know if accident is related to the strip nearby?

None of these but I do not want to name it in case the owner was involved in the accident.

Pilot is named in the above linked BBC report now.

Apparently clipped a combine harvester when coming into land, injuries not life threatening.

That is who I thought/feared it might be. I am pleased to hear that Stewart Russell is not too badly injured.

Glad he's on the mend. Hit a combine in the field in mid July, they must be getting an early start to the harvest down there in Fife.

From Scottish notes for July by A. Ness:

Lundin Links – Pilmuir Farm: PA18 G-BIYJ came to grief in a landing accident here on 17 Jul when the wing clipped a combine harvester and flipped over sustaining substantial damaged although fortunately the pilot who has owned it since 1981 survived. The future of the aircraft is uncertain although from a photograph in The Courier it looks to be repairable.

We are. The field at the end of my road was cut on the 20th, I've seen a few other cut fields.
