Aircraft Hire central Florida

Hi All,

Am in Kissimmee for 3 weeks and want to do a BFR/private rental for a couple of hours but although there are schools that are happy to instruct I can't seem to find somebody to rent me a PA28/C172. Any suggestions/experiences ?

Try this place: Aircraft Rental and Instruction Rates - SunState Aviation

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately Sunstate very unhelpful and unfriendly. Not interested in doing either BFR or rental. Booking/ops manager contradicted the instructors.

Further south than you want but you will likely get a better response around Ft. Lauderdale/Hollywood; try NS Aviation at North Perry - if they can't help they may be able to make suggestions.

Whatever happens don't forget to buy your own insurance!

Also try these

Apopka Aviation & Flight Services

I used TraxAir at Orlando Exec a few years back; friendly people with a good fleet of analogue & glass screen C172's, among other types. I'd recommend them and use them again if I visit Florida. :ok:

Thank you but I believe they went into receivership before Christmas !

As Checkpoint Bravo reminds us, don't part with all your money at once for ANY flying organisation in the US of A....they promise a special deal to get your rating, and then, alas, they go out of business!

I used to enjoy renting aircraft at Albert Whitted, in St. Petersburg, also at St Petersburg airport north of Albert Whitted. back when I was flying there, a Cessna 172 could be rented for $49 an hour....that was in 1990!

Good folks, both airfields; best to avoid Orlando area and Atlantic Coast for less welcoming outfits.

i rented a c152 out of titusville, spaceport aviation, and a 172 from jack browns seaplane base, along time ago, but browns is still there at winterhaven, also Propellorhead aviation, over at titusville i was fortunate enough to get to fly low level down the shuttle landing strip nearby.
Do you need to go to an FAA office to get an american licence issued on the basis of your EASA licence?

Discussion re Trump visits affecting some Florida flying schools in the Piper forum at http://www.piperforum.com/showthread.php?t=10890
No idea if it would affect you but I would hate to go all that way and find my school grounded. You might like to bear it in mind when booking. Good luck!
