Dreamchaser 'glider' - high altitude drop tests
Maybe not GA, but...
Slightly delayed from the dates given in this article, Sierra Nevada Corporation is now planning to carry out their next drop tests of the Dreamchaser spacecraft later this year. It struck me that although this is an unusual activity, there must have been several similar projects out there over the decades, probably going back as far as the first high-altitude balloons, on both sides of the curtain at the time? Does anyone have any project names/links to hand which could provide more information on things of similar ilk? B. |

This is a great read on the subject if you can find a copy |
Ordered :ok:
I should have thought there'd be a book or 2 about it... there is another book "Wingless Flight: The Lifting Body Story" as well. Cheers, B. |
Happy to help, best thing about this book is that Milt was part of the programme 👌
