Dogs in SEP

Guys, quick question, on googling can you take your pets in an aircraft, I get airline articles about carrying pets on planes, so in true fashion of the PPRUNE forum, can anyone tell me whether we as PPL(A) we can take our own pets in planes with us?
Thanks

Yes. You can. Would advise against anything venomous though.

And make sure that your Cessna window doesn't suddenly fly open. All the sudden barking from three dogs can add to the distraction somewhat...

No problem. Check With airport about having them airside. I fly my two out to Guernsey from Shoreham they usually go to sleep!

I recommend you get a pair of 'muttmuffs' to protect your dogs ears. Dogs have pretty sensitive hearing so will help them. It's an American product- only the Americans could get away with naming a product like that! We got a pair for our dog

I remember a while back on Scottish Information giving an ATC service to a PA28 flying from the Isle if Man to Castle Kennedy. As the flight was over the water I asked for his SOB. Just myself and 2 sheep was the reply!

Thanks guys, you're stars, thinking of getting a greyhound, they're pretty lazy, just don't want it impacting on freedom of movement (air).

PS Tomahawk, crazy vid!!

Pets on board

Remember to allow your pets to complete their walk around before departure...

Yes, you can take your pet in your aircraft, but two things - one, beware of EU regulations for pet transport and quarantine especially when going across borders - two, check with the airport before going there on their clearance to let pets on the airside, not all do allow that.

A certain Bournmouth based Flying Instructor used to take his pet goat over to the IOW in the back of a 152..
