Internal or Remote intercom?

We are installing a Trig TY96 in our permit A/C to replace a KY97 which is interfaced using a "Dave Clark" panel mounted intercom.
I am seeking advice on using the internal intercom in the TY96 rather than the external pre-existing one. Anyone any experience of this?

I bought the ty91 for my project and did consider using the built-in intercom after talking to the Trig guys at Oshkosh this year. I guess the internal circuitry is common to the 96.

My experience with the Garmin GTR200 intercom has been positive and they claim that their's is as good.

However, I've finally decided to go with the Dynon SV intercom. It's stereo, reasonably priced and gives easier access to the i/c controls and allows extra input for com2, GPS/Nav audio, music etc..

I can't report back on performance yet, but it looks promising.

I use the internal intercom on the TY91 in both open-cockpit and enclosed aircraft and I'm quite happy with it.

I have used the Trig internal intercom and it is very good and I don't think it is worth fitting an intercom unless you want to go to the top of the market an fit a PS engineering unit.
