An interesting destination...

... loaded with history.
Not sure if one could easily fly there from the west, though, perhaps easier to fly on a local plane with a local instructor. Anyone been there and/or done that?

(no local ties, I just came across this place while browsing the www)

Just in case anyone's wondering where it is.

The Aurora's getting steam up???

Has the Admiral Kuznetsov broken down and they need another flagship?

I visited St Petersburg in 2014 and 2015. Aurora was in her usual place the first year but she was missing last year. I was told that she had been towed to the dockyard at Kronstadt for another major refurbish. I was also told that she would be restored to working order and would become the flagship of the Russian Navy. I'm probably wrong but I have a vague recollection that her engines were made in Glasgow.
