French language course at Lee on Solent - 23-24 Jan 2016
Hi.
I am running a French language course aimed at helping UK pilots feel more comfortable when flying to France. Below is a copy of the course outline. An excellent way to do something flying-related in the winter weather! Best, James Dear all, It was a pleasure to meet so many of you at the Lee fly-in a couple of weeks back. During the weekend, a number of people asked me about the possibility of running a French aviation course (French procedures, radio in French, etc.). I have decided to organise just such a course on the weekend of 22-24 January 2016 at Lee On Solent Airfield. The program will be as follows: Saturday 22 January 2016 9am Arrival, Coffee, Meet and Greet 10am 12 noon Introduction to flying in France Q&A with French Flying Instructor (flown in all the way from Bordeaux !) 12 noon until 2 pm Buffet Lunch 2pm until 4 pm Radio in French Lesson and workshop Evening French cheese and wine evening in an authentic French wine bar Sunday 23 January 2016 9am Coffee and cakes 10am 12 noon French radio role play and training 12 noon until 2pm Buffet Lunch 2pm until 4 pm FCL055 (EASA Language Proficiency Test) in French Requirements to take part Some experience of speaking French is obviously useful, but not essential. The French radio method taught is based on pilots with basic French only. However, common sense dictates that someone without any notion of French whatsoever would be likely to struggle. Whats Included 8 hours of aviation French tuition Lunch each day Tea, Coffee, and Cakes Wine and cheese on the Saturday night Transport to and from hotels for those arriving by air (also available on the Friday night) Transport to and from wine bar for all participants Whats not included Landing fees if arriving by air Accommodation The preferred hotel is Premlier Inn Gosport (http://www.premierinn.com/gb/en/hotels/ sport.html), however anyone who fancies something a little fancier can find accommodation to their taste in the local area. Please ask if unsure. Disclaimer While we will run an FCL055 test, along the same lines as that organised by the DGAC for English, we cannot issue an official qualification recognised by the French authorities, simply because such a qualification does not exist. I am currently in contact with the local DGAC office to see what the options are, but no solution appears to be on the horizon! Cost The cost will be £250 per person. To sign up, or for more information, please contact James either by phone (+33 677 636 841) or by email to [email protected] |
