Applying for license
 

Hey guys,

Started my PPL/A application last night through the new online process, after I submitted my name and address it said the CAA will contact me if they need any more info.

It didn't ask me to upload any certificates, reports or copies of my logbook, is this correct?

Towards the bottom of this page Initial Application for a PPL(A) Licence | Private Pilots | Personal Licences and Training under "You will need to provide" is a list of what needs to be, err, provided, which include the following:
- A completed online application form for the grant of a Private Pilot Licence
- The course completion certificate completed by the EASA Approved Training Organisation (ATO) attached to the online application form
- Evidence of your passport or full European Driving licence, which must be a copy and certified by the Head of Training of an Approved Training Organisation (ATO) or a UK Examiner
- A copy of the Examiners Report form
- Evidence of a valid Language Proficiency (LP) issued by an UK authorised examiner or UK CAA approved assessment centre. This is only required for a Flight Radio Telephony Operators Licence (FRTOL) or for Instrument Rating (IR).

Extracts or copy of the logbook is not asked for.

It is strange that you were not prompted for these as part of the online process... your best bet may be to send them as an email to the CAA, together with the application reference number you were given.

Otherwise, you may have to wait 10-15 working days for them to tell you that they are missing.

Hi Kidlink. I'm surprised that your Instructor, or CFI isn't helping you with this. the details of a successful application are more involved than the flight training, and the new online system is still unfamiliar and a bit hit and miss.

You will certainly have to provide all the supporting documents, and a form of photo ID either by post or scanned into an email. Any copies will have to be Certified by an Examiner, or the CFI.

don't know the situation with CAA, but in IAA you need to submit the logbook and other relevant info when you apply for skills test. After you pass your skills test, IAA already has all the info, so when you apply for the licence, there's no need to resubmit all of it again.

Haven't you already submitted all of this before taking the skills test?

not in the UK - only only submit that info at the end, after the skills test. Before the skills test you only need completion of training doc signed to be given to the examiner.

You've no chance of getting a license from the CAA. Try the FAA.:)
