The good weathers back? Right thats it, ticket booked for the end of the month, heading home. No more "Taxi Golf to Golf2, cross Foxtrot and hold short 26 right, number 4 behind the Waco" for a while.
I'm ready for some "Aye park it up there on the grass will be fine" !!!

I was lucky weather wise when I spent a weekend flying around Scotland a couple of years ago. It was gin clear glorious. Flying up the Great Glen from Oban to Inverness was just stunning. Well worth doing if you haven't considered it. Mind you make sure you get the weather...

Cracking day over Scotland, whats your plans today.
To begin with, continue in the often futile, poorly paid task of proof-reading and editing others' lapses. Had one the wings 'to slip the surly bonds of earth', then one would not care one iota for the pedant's revolt, but aspire to go 'up, up the long, delirious, burning blue', there to top 'the wind-swept heights with easy grace'.

(Thinks . . . if Grace was that easy . . . would one be bothered raising up any sort of a prayer now?)

Just landed, one hour over Fife with an apparently dead transmitter, sorry Fisbang time for a handheld I think. Beautiful day.

Island Bloke......weather looks good for you tommorrow. I guess youll route from the Island to Burrow Head before heading west of Prestwick. A lot of helicopter activity with ex Joint Warrior once you coast in, Danger areas D405, D402/3 all active for the exercise but Burrow head to TRN will keep you clear if them. Give Scottish info 119.875 a call as you coast out from the island and we'll take good care of you fir the rest of your flight

Crash one.......sorry you were silent today

That must of been the 7 NOTAMs about the conflict in Egypt, Russia, Bagdad etc that we're all having to put up with recently ;)?

Happy memories

Ahhhhh- I spent five years or so getting my PPL in and then enjoying it around Scotland in the DA20s - and the Scottish Info guys of course (was one guy used to ask me for shipping reports while over Largs as I guess that's where he was headed after his shift!). Very fun times.

Doubt there is anywhere quite like it to fly to be honest- 10 minutes and you could be in a different world - be it cruising around Loch Lomond or out to the islands- really took it for granted at the time and would now do anything to do it again!

Maybe get a trip back later in the year (and no doubt miss any good flying weather).

It was glorious here in NE Scotland yesterday. Flew from Aberdeen up to the Moray Firth coast and back via Longside (didn't land there) and Perterhead lane on my first solo cross country. There was a thick low level fog along the moray firth but otherwise brill.
