German Annex 2 aircraft Licence Required?

Does anyone know the LBA requirements for flying D reg. annex 2 aircraft?

Does the LBA allow any Part FCL Licence holder to fly them, or do they require a German issued National Licence as well?

For microlights I feel quite certain a German license ("Luftsportgeräteführer") will be required, can get confirmation if wanted. OTOH I have not the slightest idea about experimentals / homebuilts / warbirds. Perhaps the Oskar Ursinusverein could help.

Progress ?

Thirty or so years or so ago we had one License to fly light aircraft, then the goal of European integration was set to provide a common standard across the new economic area.

So now we have to have more than one License required to fly light aircraft and the whole thing is administered by people who have no idea of the practical requirements of light aviation and at a cost that is set to kill light aviation.

Is this what EASA calls progress ? Or is it just job protection from those in the national authorities ?

Seeing and hearing what a mess EASA are creating, I am only happy to fly under a national license, as yet. I prefer a complicated national puddle over uniform Europe-wide hassles.

Both, of course! It's a win/win situation to them.:*
