Dear all,

I would like to ask your help to clarify something.

Can a PPL pilot offer himself to fly 6 people on his own airplane for free? Is this allowed under a PPL?

Why do you ask?

Are you someone with a seven seat aircraft, only a PPL and a scant knowledge of airlaw?

Or perhaps you know someone who has done this and are just wondering if they are allowed?

Is your question really, can a PPL fly an aeroplane for free with some other people on board?

I kind of thought that's what a PPL was for.

Hi Fernando. Welcome to prune. Yes. you can take any number of people for a trip in your own aeroplane for free, and you can also offer to fly people in an aeroplane belonging to them for free too.(In case that's what you meant)

But if a PPL carries some passengers and they pay for fuel, (s)he has to pay at least an equal share.

Cost sharing can now be between up to 6 people, shares no longer have to be equal, and not restricted within a Flying Club. (Changed about couple of months ago)
